Catherine Masangu Kangwa

Cather­ine has over 30 years of mul­ti-sec­tor glob­al expe­ri­ence in the Pub­lic and Pri­vate Sec­tor, cov­er­ing var­i­ous dis­ci­plines includ­ing risk man­age­ment, inter­nal and exter­nal audit­ing, finan­cial man­age­ment and gov­er­nance. Her work­ing expe­ri­ence has includ­ed work­ing with inter­na­tion­al orga­ni­za­tions such as Deloitte, KPMG, Bar­clays Bank Plc, AngloAmer­i­can Plc Group and most recent­ly in the inter­na­tion­al devel­op­ment sec­tor. Her recent work includes work­ing with a mul­ti-lat­er­al orga­ni­za­tion, lead­ing glob­al efforts to man­age the risk man­age­ment and reg­u­la­to­ry gov­er­nance pil­lars. Catherine’s work expe­ri­ence has giv­en her the oppor­tu­ni­ty to pro­vide thought lead­er­ship and the abil­i­ty to influ­ence desired out­comes, demon­strat­ing deep exper­tise in all aspects of gov­er­nance and account­abil­i­ty. This has includ­ed the pro­vi­sion of tech­ni­cal and advi­so­ry sup­port to Gov­er­nance Boards, Senior Man­age­ment Teams and Coun­try Office Heads and to sup­port the achieve­ment of orga­ni­za­tion­al strate­gic and oper­a­tional objec­tives. Cather­ine is a Char­tered and Cer­ti­fied Accoun­tant and is a cer­ti­fied ISO 31000 Senior Lead Risk Man­ag­er.

Victoria Mupwaya

Vic­to­ria is a man­age­ment and human resource expert with over 28 years expe­ri­ence in the pub­lic, devel­op­ment and finan­cial ser­vices sec­tor. She has a proven track record to lead and con­tribute to an orga­ni­za­tion at both strate­gic and oper­a­tional lev­el in the deliv­ery of busi­ness and peo­ple man­age­ment strate­gies. She is cur­rent­ly serv­ing as the CEO of VSM Peo­ple Solu­tions, Human Resource and Man­age­ment Con­sult­ing. Pri­or to that she held exec­u­tive lead­er­ship roles at Bar­clays Bank Zam­bia and Zam­bia Envi­ron­men­tal Agency where she led Nation­al Cli­mate projects in col­lab­o­ra­tion with mul­ti­lat­er­als such as the World Bank, and UN agen­cies among oth­ers. The wealth of her expe­ri­ence includes being on the board of a num­ber of pri­vate, devel­op­ment and pub­lic sec­tor orga­ni­za­tions some of which includes The Zam­bia Devel­op­ment Agency, The Finan­cial Sec­tor Deep­en­ing Zam­bia, Envi­ron­ment Pro­tec­tion fund, Lusa­ka Stock Exchange among oth­ers. Vic­to­ria holds a Mas­ters of Busi­ness Admin­is­tra­tion from the East­ern and South­ern African Man­age­ment Institute/ Maas­tricht Man­age­ment Insti­tute, Nether­lands and Bach­e­lor of Arts Degree in Psy­chol­o­gy and Eco­nom­ics, Uni­ver­si­ty of Zam­bia

Banja Mkwanazi

Ban­ja has over 20 years of finan­cial Mar­kets and Invest­ment Man­age­ment expe­ri­ence in glob­al finan­cial insti­tu­tions with more than half in exec­u­tive lead­er­ship roles. Hav­ing left the bank­ing indus­try, Ban­ja found­ed the Sim­pact Foun­da­tion, in an effort to use alter­na­tive and sus­tain­able mar­ket-based approach­es to help address pover­ty in her coun­try and Africa at large. She is the first female Trea­sur­er in the Zam­bian bank­ing sec­tor and has been instru­men­tal in land­mark trans­ac­tions in excess of US$7bn includ­ing devel­op­ing dig­i­tal finan­cial ser­vices that has helped increase finan­cial inclu­sion. Her expe­ri­ence also includes bal­ance sheet man­age­ment of one of the largest finan­cial insti­tu­tions in the coun­try. Her vast finan­cial mar­kets expe­ri­ence has result­ed in her hold­ing var­i­ous board posi­tions includ­ing among oth­ers, Board chair­per­son and finance and Invest­ment com­mit­tee board chair­per­son of var­i­ous pen­sion funds. Oth­ers notable board appoint­ments include lead­ing the Fundrais­ing and Strat­e­gy Board Com­mit­tee for World Vision Zam­bia, Bay­port Finan­cial Ser­vice among oth­ers. Ban­ja is a grad­u­ate of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Lon­don, UK with an MSc Finance and Finan­cial Law. She also holds a Bach­e­lors of Law from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Lon­don and Bach­e­lors of Busi­ness Admin­is­tra­tion from the Cop­per­belt Uni­ver­si­ty, Zam­bia.

Risper Genga Ohaga

Risper is a sea­soned finance, risk and audit pro­fes­sion­al with 22years expe­ri­ence in finan­cial ser­vices, man­u­fac­tur­ing and con­sul­tan­cy ser­vices.  She is cur­rent­ly serv­ing as the Group Chief Finance Offi­cer for East African Brew­eries Plc (EABL), a sub­sidiary of the glob­al drinks giant, Dia­geo. Risper is a Board mem­ber of EABL, a com­pa­ny list­ed on the Nairo­bi Stock Exchange. Pri­or to her cur­rent role, she held var­i­ous senior roles in Bar­clays Africa Group (now Absa). She joined Bar­clays in 2008 as the Region­al Direc­tor for Inter­nal Audit (Bar­clays East and West Africa) based in Kenya before being pro­mot­ed to Man­ag­ing Direc­tor for Inter­nal Audit (Bar­clays Africa) based in Johan­nes­burg. In 2015, she joined Bar­clays Bank Zam­bia as Finance and Strat­e­gy Direc­tor, a role she held up to Jan­u­ary 2020 when she joined Dia­geo. Her ear­ly career was spent in KPMG Kenya where she was involved in a wide vari­ety of finan­cial ser­vices audits, inter­nal audit and con­sul­tan­cy. Her work expe­ri­ence has seen her cov­er a num­ber of coun­tries in Africa exten­sive­ly while also being part of glob­al lead­er­ship teams. She holds a BCom (Account­ing) from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Nairo­bi and is a mem­ber of ICPAK. She is also a Cer­ti­fied Inter­nal Audi­tor.

Brian Kalero

Bri­an is a sea­soned cor­po­rate & invest­ment banker with 22years expe­ri­ence in the finan­cial sec­tor in Cen­tral and East­ern Africa with Inter­na­tion­al Finan­cial Insti­tu­tions. He is cur­rent­ly serv­ing as the Cor­po­rate Bank­ing Direc­tor for Absa Bank Zam­bia Plc. Pri­or to his cur­rent role, he spent 2 years in Tan­za­nia as the Cor­po­rate Bank­ing Direc­tor for Absa Bank Tan­za­nia Lim­it­ed. Pre­vi­ous­ly to this role Bri­an held the posi­tion of Head of Glob­al Clients for 4 years under Bar­clays Bank Zam­bia Plc. Brian’s work expe­ri­ence also includes cor­po­rate cred­it and retail bank­ing. He has played an instru­men­tal role in the exe­cu­tion of key land­mark finan­cial trans­ac­tions in the var­i­ous key eco­nom­ic sec­tors that has con­tributed towards finan­cial mar­kets devel­op­ment. Bri­an is a Char­tered Cer­ti­fied Accoun­tant (ACCA) and holds an MBA from Her­riot Watt Uni­ver­si­ty Edin­burgh Busi­ness School, UK. He is also a fel­low mem­ber of the Asso­ci­a­tion of Char­tered Cer­ti­fied Accoun­tants (UK).

Brenda Kayumba

Bren­da Kayum­ba has about 15 years expe­ri­ence in the Devel­op­ment sec­tor and is cur­rent­ly employed as Pro­gram Man­ag­er with Cen­tre For Infec­tious Dis­eases Research Zam­bia (CIDRZ). She has expe­ri­ence in project and pro­gram man­age­ment with sev­er­al devel­op­ment orga­ni­za­tions includ­ing the Unit­ed Nations Devel­op­ment Pro­gramme (UNDP). Bren­da holds a Mas­ters Degree in Devel­op­ment Eval­u­a­tion and Man­age­ment from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Antwerp, Bel­gium and a Bach­e­lor of Arts Degree from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zam­bia with a Major in Devel­op­ment Stud­ies and Minor in Eco­nom­ics.

Margaret P Kanja

Mar­garet has 20 years of mul­ti sec­tor expe­ri­ence in finan­cial ser­vices and tele­com indus­try among oth­ers. She is cur­rent­ly serv­ing as Head of Pub­lic Sec­tor, Local Large and Region­al Cor­po­rates at ABSA Cor­po­rate Bank­ing Zam­bia which involves pro­vid­ing strate­gic lead­er­ship and direc­tion for this key bank­ing seg­ment. Pri­or to that she held the roles of Nation­al Sales Man­ag­er at MTN Zam­bia and Nation­al Cus­tomer Ser­vice Man­ag­er at DHL Inter­na­tion­al. Her abil­i­ty to cre­ate strong strate­gic part­ner­ships has result­ed in facil­i­tat­ing land­mark finan­cial ser­vices inno­va­tions with tele­com and pub­lic sec­tor play­ers. She has also been instru­men­tal in facil­i­tat­ing sig­nif­i­cant finan­cial mar­kets trans­ac­tions in key eco­nom­ic sec­tors. Her expe­ri­ence includes being the Lead on man­ag­ing devel­op­ment orga­ni­za­tions, gov­ern­ment and reg­u­la­to­ry rela­tion­ships and influ­enc­ing pol­i­cy changes that have helped make head­way in finan­cial mar­kets devel­op­ment. Margaret’s skills and expe­ri­ence include cor­po­rate finance, cred­it risk man­age­ment, sales and rela­tion­ship skills among oth­ers. Joshua G Banda

Joshua Ban­da has over 20 years of Account­ing and Finan­cial man­age­ment expe­ri­ence in a Glob­al finan­cial insti­tu­tion with his last role being Chief Finan­cial Offi­cer for Citi Zam­bia. He has demon­stra­ble abil­i­ty to stream­line busi­ness process­es to achieve effi­cien­cies and reduc­tion in process redun­dan­cies. His expe­ri­ence includes devel­op­ment and imple­men­ta­tion of finan­cial con­trols and process­es, pro­duc­tiv­i­ty improve­ment and change man­age­ment. Joshua holds an MBA from Her­riot Watt Uni­ver­si­ty, Edin­burgh Busi­ness School, Scot­land and is an Asso­ciate mem­ber of The Char­tered Insti­tute of Man­age­ment Accoun­tants (ACMA). Joshua also holds a Bach­e­lor of Accoun­tan­cy Degree from The Cop­per­belt Uni­ver­si­ty.

Gift Dauchi

Gift Dauchi is a well-accom­plished Oil & Gas spe­cial­ist with two decades of expe­ri­ence in Oil & Gas oper­a­tions, spe­cial­is­ing in Marine ter­mi­nals, Joint Ven­tures and Avi­a­tion Fuel oper­a­tions. She is cur­rent­ly serv­ing as the Group Head of Oper­a­tions at Rubis Ener­gy locat­ed in Nairo­bi, Kenya. As part of the Group Exec­u­tive Com­mit­tee her role entails set­ting up long-term tech­ni­cal and oper­a­tional strate­gies in East and South­ern Africa by enforc­ing and ful­fill­ing com­pa­ny prac­tices regard­ing sus­tain­able oper­a­tions con­cern­ing peo­ple, and the envi­ron­ment. Gift has exten­sive expe­ri­ence in estab­lish­ing risk and con­trol frame­works includ­ing achiev­ing oper­a­tional excel­lence by ensur­ing asset integri­ty, cap­i­tal projects imple­men­ta­tion, bud­get­ing and train­ing. Her work expe­ri­ence with oth­er orga­ni­za­tions also includes Exxon­Mo­bil, BP and Puma Ener­gy. She has a BSc in Pro­duc­tion Man­age­ment from the Cop­per­belt Uni­ver­si­ty and a Post Grad­u­ate Diplo­ma in Busi­ness Admin­is­tra­tion from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Edin­burgh Busi­ness School, Her­riot Watt Uni­ver­si­ty, Scot­land.

Theo Nsunge ACMA CGMA

Theo has 19 years of Bank­ing expe­ri­ence, with expo­sure in Finan­cial and Man­age­ment Accounts, Bank oper­a­tions and Cor­po­rate and invest­ments Bank­ing. He is cur­rent­ly the Head of Trans­ac­tion­al Bank­ing for Absa Bank PLC and pre­vi­ous­ly held the role of Lead Data and Ana­lyt­ics for Cor­po­rate and Invest­ment Bank­ing Africa exclud­ing South Africa. Theo has con­tributed sig­nif­i­cant­ly to the automa­tion of Busi­ness Intel­li­gence and ana­lyt­ics for Absa African busi­ness­es. His cur­rent role at Absa Zam­bia includes grow­ing the trans­ac­tion­al bank­ing busi­ness whilst dri­ving dig­i­tal pay­ments ser­vices. He has also been instru­men­tal in devel­op­ing dig­i­tal finan­cial ser­vices inno­va­tion that has con­tributed to the sig­nif­i­cant advance­ments in finan­cial inclu­sion in the mar­ket. Theo’s expe­ri­ence extends to devel­op­ing a strong risk man­age­ment cul­ture by for­mu­lat­ing and set­ting up a strong enter­prise risk frame­work with robust mon­i­tor­ing met­rics. Theo is a Char­tered Accoun­tant, a mem­ber of the Char­tered Insti­tute of Man­age­ment Accounts (CIMA) and holds the des­ig­na­tion of ACMA and CGMA.
